IS DWAYNE BOWE A TOP FIFTEEN FANTASY RECEIVER AGAIN? - Fantasy Football Tips | Fantasy Football Advice | Fantasy Football Draft and Weekly Pickups Inside the Redzone

Kyle Orton’s arrival to Kansas City came none too soon for the Dwayne Bowe owners who were contemplating what they would do with the borderline top ten receiver talent. Still, this is no guarantee that Bowe can equal his early season success. In fact the immediate road ahead looks tenuous. Bowe will be a risky play again in week 12 against the Steelers. Orton will probably make his first start in week 13, where the Chiefs will travel to Chicago and take on Peanut Tillman and the Bears. Tillman’s physical style plays well to Bowe’s. That match-up should make Bowe owners think twice about putting him in the starting lineup. After their run-in with the Bears, the Chiefs travel to New York and Revis Island. Again – not a good matchup for Bowe.

Hopefully going past that murderer’s row of road games and very good defenses, we’ll see better times ahead for Orton and Bowe. As mentioned, the first round doesn’t look good against Revis Island. Week 15 at home against the Packers could be a good match-up. Charles Woodson is looking more and more like a future ball hawking safety and less like a shut down corner. If the Packers can get up on the Chiefs quickly, Bowe should put up good garbage stats. In week 16, the Chiefs play host to the Raiders. As of this post, the Raiders have given up the 10th most fantasy points to receivers and have given up 10 receiving touchdowns in 10 games. So he’s a decent flex start at worst, given Orton can be as effective as Matt Cassel (How hard is that?).

It’ll probably be a rough beginning for Bowe owners. Expectations will have to be tempered. BUT a reminder should be marked on your calendar to strongly consider starting him… after week 14.

After the last play of last night’s game where he did not even make an effort I would say no.
